All of our 22 bedrooms are furnished to the same high standard but as you might expect with a boutique hotel they do vary a little in size and aspect. Given the New England style and our proximity to the sea it will be of no surprise to you that we chose to name our room categories after sailing boats.
Whatever season you come to South Sands you can be sure to see beautiful scenes from calm days to rough seas, simply stunning.
Sit back relax and looking over unspoilt sea views across the estuary in Salcombe. Many of our rooms have the ability to open up the windows and look over south Sands beach.
Our Enterprise and Optimist rooms are valley facing rooms that are still extremely comfortable offering the same finish and furnishing just overlooking the valley to the rear of the hotel.
Rooms 1 is a wheel chair friendly room, accessed on the lower floor of the hotel.
Room 2 is one of our Ground Floor Rooms accessed through a separate entrance with a ramp and then two steps up into the room. The room has been designed to be Ambulant Disabled accessible, as allergy free as possible and has air conditioning.
We love dogs at South Sands and we’re happy to accommodate them. South Sands beach welcomes dogs from October through to May (in summer access is restricted for dogs to early mornings and evenings – please follow notices posted at beach). Neighbouring North Sands beach is all year round, as well as that there are the dramatic coastal paths to go on.
We have at least 1 room available in each room category which welcomes dogs (except J Class).
Dog food is not provided.
Dogs are welcome in the bar, lounge and on the terrace on a lead.
South Sands Beach did win the internationally-recognised Blue Flag award. The accolade guaranteed that the golden shores have top notch facilities, are litter free and have achieved a high standard of water quality.

All of our rates are quoted per room, per night, inclusive of accommodation, full English breakfast and VAT and are based on two people sharing a bedroom. The tariff for single occupancy of our accommodation is £15 less than the listed rate when booked direct.
There is a minimum of a two night stay required in all room types during the weekends and throughout the year in all Beach Suites.

With uncertainty over when we can all resume our much loved holidays and short breaks, and with hospitality businesses under government restriction and waiting for clarification of when we can resume our normal bookings, we would like to clarify our booking procedures to our guests.*
At the point of booking we will require your credit card details.
A deposit equivalent to the 25% of your stay will be charged to this card, on completion of this transaction your confirmation will be sent out to you either by post or email.
This deposit is non-refundable however provided that you have given 1 week notice for our low and mid seasons (a minimum of two weeks’ notice will be required for High Season bookings) we will provide you with a voucher for the equivalent amount paid with a 2 year expiry to use against a future booking. We strongly advise having suitable travel insurance in place.
We respectfully remind guests that a reservation constitutes a contract between themselves and the Hotel. Any reservation or part thereof cancelled within the 1 or 2 weeks policy will be charged for.
