Accessible Rooms
South Sands offers perfect South Devon stay for everyone and our accessible rooms provide the space and comfort for all.
Room 1 offers an inland view and is accessed via a ramp from outside the hotel, making it fully wheelchair accessible. Room 2 has a partial sea view. A small section of The South West Coast Path passes in front of room 2, making it the perfect spot for joining the scenic route.
Room 2 is also accessed via a ramp with 2 steps leading into the room. It has been designed to be Ambulant Disabled accessible.
Both rooms are fully air conditions and as allergy free as possible.
Optimist Room 1
Optimist Room 1 on the Ground Floor is our medium sized, wheelchair accessible room accessed through a separate entrance with handrails along the corridor and a ramp to the room.
It is furnished with a super king size bed that can be split into twin beds on request, an armchair and a dressing table/desk with a stool. Optimist Room 1 has air conditioning and is as allergy free as possible.
The en-suite has a wet room with two showers. One is adapted to be wheelchair accessible and has a removable chair and handrail. The other is a standard shower.
There is space for a separate cot on request.

Optimist Room 2
Optimist Room 2 on the Ground Floor, has been designed as an Ambulant Disabled accessible room and is accessed through a separate entrance with a ramp and then two steps into the room.
It is furnished with a king size bed, an armchair and a desk/dressing table with a stool. Optimist Room 2 has air conditioning and is as allergy free as possible.
The en-suite provides a bath with an overhead shower with fixed handrails.
French doors open up onto the path that leads you directly to the beach.
