East Portlemouth to Torcross

Handpicked by Freya

For those who are more daring and adventurous, the South West Coast Path goes further beyond Gara Rock towards Prawle Point, which is the southernmost point of Devon. After that, you can proceed towards Lannacombe Bay and Start Point Lighthouse. As you walk along Start Bay, you will come across the ruins of the fishing village of Hallsands, followed by the village of Beesands, before finally reaching Torcross. This part of the coastline is the most spectacular and offers a wide range of scenic viewpoints. Although it is a long walk, the experience is rewarding and you can catch the bus back to Kingsbridge and then Salcombe from the village of Torcross.
