Local artisan blacksmith Joff Hopper created South Sands' spectacular spiral staircase which leads guests up to bed. Local carpenter Pete Goss crafted the staircase banister and also provided attractive features in the hotel such as wardrobes, dressing tables, bedside cabinets and the main reception desk, waiter station and crow’s nest in the restaurant. Joff then added the finishing touches with his hand forged door handles, room numbers, key fobs, a fabulous fire grate and surround, quirky wall lights, decorative entrance table and elegant candle sticks.
